Two teams that could be better this year meet on Thursday in NFL wagering preseason competition as the Detroit Lions sponsor the Buffalo Bills. This could be a fun one to watch and make an NFL bet on, as both teams scored a lot of points last week.



Since they are at home, NFL football betting lines will likely prefer the Lions, but as they put up 35 points on the Bengals, the Buffalo Bills proved last week they can be explosive. The Buffalo Bills seemed as good as they have in quite a while a week ago since quarterback Trent Edwards performed well and rookie running back CJ Spiller was explosive.

Edwards has appeared like a top quarterback for a change. He has completed 24 of 37 passes for 304 yards, with 2 touchdowns, one interception and has a quarterback rating of 97.1 in the preseason. In the preseason, he has directed Buffalo’s first string offense to 38 points. Last year the first string for the Buffalo Bills didn’t score a TD in the preseason. With Edwards playing smart and CJ Spiller running all over the place, the Buffalo Bills actually look like an NFL offense. The Bills’ defense has not been almost as good as their offense so that could be a worry against a Detroit offense that has seemed good.

Lions can Earn Points: The Detroit Lions are likely to be greater in 2010. The Lions are not going to be an embarrassment and yes, we have said that before however they will be worth a NFL bet. Their offense is good. Quarterback Matthew Stafford has some weapons at his fingertips with receiver Calvin Johnson and running back Jahvid Best. The Lions can make some points. They still can not stop anyone but at least they will be interesting.

Where to Wager: Because the starters for both teams will not play a great deal in this game it makes taking a side in this match a little risky. Taking the game over could be worth a chance at the online sportsbook even with the backups in the game, though, since neither squad has much of a defense.
