Dallas Has 5 Games in 2010 NFL preseason Odds
NFL odds at the online sportsbook for most teams have them playing only 4 games.
Two teams will be playing 5 games though since the Hall of Fame Game is regarded as an extra competition by the NFL and not part of Week 1 NFL preseason 2010 wagering. The Dallas Cowboys meet the Cincinnati Bengals in the Hall of Fame Game on August 8th. The Hall of Fame Game will come after an enshrinement of the Hall’s Class of 2010 on Saturday, August 7.
The Cincinnati Bengals are appearing in their 1st Hall of Fame Game since 1988, while the Dallas Cowboys last appeared in 1999 with a lineup that included new enshrinee Emmitt Smith. Jerry Jones, the Dallas Cowboys owner-general manager, had vied for his team to be involved in the competition for the 1st time since 1999. Smith, the NFL’s all-time top rusher with 18,355 yards, performed for the Dallas Cowboys from 1990 – 2002 and scored a record 164 rushing touchdowns, won 4 NFL rushing titles and gained 1,000 yards in a record 11 consecutive seasons. Jones wanted his squad to be part of the weekend since Smith will be enshrined into the Hall a day earlier.
NFL preseason 2010 odds will practically assuredly favor the Dallas Cowboys in the preseason starter that can be viewed on NBC. The Cowboys are deemed Super Bowl contenders and while the Bengals are good, they are not given as much regard on the gambling line that Dallas will get.
Just a few days after the Hall of Fame Game, Week 1 NFL preseason 2010 wagering begins. The Cowboys don’t get much rest as they’ve got to play on Thursday, August 12th which is only 4 days after their starter versus the Bengals. The Cowboys could have an edge over Oakland since they will have been in camp longer than the Raiders. The Cowboys will get a lot of the interest anyhow and in this case the Raiders might have some value with the Dallas Cowboys playing on a short week.
The third competition for the Dallas Cowboys in the preseason is on August 21st as they are in San Diego. The Cowboys will likely be underdogs in that game on the road versus the Chargers. Dallas carries on on the road on August 28th versus the Houston Texans in a competition that can be viewed on CBS television. The starters should see plenty of action since this is part of the Week 3 schedule for other teams. The Cowboys host the Miami Dolphins and conclude the preseason on September 2nd. Starters don’t play much so the line on this competition could be very close with the Dallas Cowboys a minor favorite. The last week of the preseason is pretty useless.
Even in the preseason, Dallas is a very public team so they will get some action from gamblers. The Cowboys are one of the main Super Bowl contenders in gambling odds together with New Orleans, Indianapolis and New England. Dallas will be fun to watch in the preseason and they will be on national TV a lot starting with the Hall of Fame Game.
